One of my resolutions this year is to be more organized around the house. With two kids now, it's much harder to keep on top of things, so I am hoping this resolution will make my life a little easier.
One of the first places I wanted to reorganize was our junk drawer. I know it seems small and insignificant, but I pretty much need something from it every day and finding things was getting frustrating. When you're trying to look for that one...little...thing...with a baby attached to your boob, you will give your right arm to have it at your fingertips.
Since it'd be hard to do anything at all without a right arm, I searched Pinterest for some organizing ideas. I found this pin:

The initial prep was simple: I collected boxes over a couple days. Then measured and cut with my exacto knife.

I proceeded to wrap them in some scrap fabric I had around the house with Mod Podge. I really only have Christmas or kids' wrapping papers and I didn't want to purchase anything for this project, so scrap fabric there I went. Using the fabric was a little difficult though and, if I had to do it again, I would use wrapping paper like the project details.
Overall, they came out good and are really useful. I love the fact that I didn't spend money on it and, even though they're in a drawer, I am really liking that the colors match my kitchen decor.
One more note: you can see in the last picture above, that the box is kind of drooping...or not holding its shape. This happened with all of the more flimsy boxes. It doesn't matter when they're in the drawer, buttressed together, but I did want to point it out in case you also have some flimsy boxes!
So, chalk another one up for Pinterest. This was a 2 pins up project!
