"Fitness at Home" Workout

I've tried a couple Pinterest workouts, with mixed feelings (see "fitness" label to the right to read my reviews). My goal for this year is to lose the extra 40 pounds I've been carrying around for way too long, but I don't have enough time for a gym right now. So .... I've been pinning lots of workouts like these onto my "fitness" board:

Here's me doing my wall sit (note the complete lack of makeup and general haggard appearance - no judgements, please! it was a busy, kid-stuff-filled week!):

Of the few Pinterest fitness pins I've tried so far, this is by far my favorite, and here's why:
- If you do the workout, using proper form for each listed movement, you'll work up a sweat. And, of course, to borrow from another pin ....

I walk a ton and my cardio fitness level is fairly high. I was surprised when I started huffing a little during the first set of high knees. It's so easy to forget how hard you can work when you control your body's intensity (as opposed to letting a machine - treadmill or eliptical - control it for you!).
- This is a total body workout, but uses your body's own momentum and weight. This is a great way to exercise in general - no expensive gym memberships or equipment and you can do it anywhere.
- It's not a long workout by any stretch (you can easily get through 3 rotations in less than 20 minutes, more if you're in better shape and you push it).
- You can control the intensity and pace of the workout, depending on where your body's at on any given day.

All things considered, I give this fitness pin 2 pins up and plan to make it a part of my home-based workout regimen!

Have a great week, Pinners!
